Jon Niche (Previously Black On Black) is the alias of an England based mandroid, using guitars, keyboards, drum machines and midi pads to create something that cannot be defined other a specific genre other than “space-electro-ambient-IDM-darkwave-synthpop”. There is no real idea when the former rock n roller now known as Jon Niche turned to the genre of electronic music, perhaps many the forever declining quality of what is known as “rock music” drove him out of the pit of normality of guitars and bland over-the-top vocalists and into the endless depths, vastness and unimaginable creativity of electronic music.

The music that Jon Niche creates is often the result of accidents or experimentation with various synthesizers, guitar effects and midi sequencing, although most of the results from this experimentation are the basis of the music, more “normal” planning techniques and rhythms are used at times. Jon Niche has and never will play a live show, unless there are hardly any people there or he can wear a mask, and he can have a full band. No turntables.
